Its Summer! And in New York there are a plethora of outdoor shows and festivals to choose from. But the one that everyone is talking about is definitely Governors Ball this weekend!

This year the Ball will be held on Randall's Island, which is not only easier to access, which leaves more time to get ready, but also means less hassle getting back.

June 23-24 – Randall's Island – New York City, NY
Two-Day Pass: $195.00, Single Day Ticket: $105.00
2nd year
 – Last year's attendance: 20,000 – Camping: No

Here is a map of the island:

SUNSCREEN!!!
Bring lots of sunscreen! Although, its going to be in the high 88s the sun will be beating down all day!

The last thing you want is showing up red faced at work on Monday, especially if you're doing the two day pass like we are.

KEEP HYDRATED:
Best thing about this years Governor's Ball is no lineup overlap and...Free Water sponsored by CamelBak!!! Only problem is there is going to be a huge line for it. Try bringing little bottles of water and stashing them in your bag if possible.

TRANSPORTATION:
The two options you have are to travel by Ferry or Shuttle.
Tickets are still on sale, but selling fast!

What to wear:
We recommend something light and breathable, here are some pieces from our Fashion Tops, that would be perfect for Governor's Ball.

You could easily match any of our Spring 2012 Tops with a pair of you favorite shorts or jorts!

BANDS YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS!!!

Its pretty clear that the two days have been divided into the "Dance Day" on Saturday, and the more chill hip-swaying "Indie Rock/Electronic Day" on Sunday.

Passion Pit: If you like dancy, catchy, fun and electronica these guys are amazing! Especially because it is extremely difficult to catch these guys live. And...they'll be playing new songs from their upcoming release, which is awesome! Its their first album they've released since 2009's Manners. DO not miss out on Saturday's headliner!

Phantogram: An American Indie Pop duo from Saratoga Springs, NY. This opening band is filled with catchy hooks and , fronted by Sarah Barthel and backed by . Her vocals on their new album Nightlife are amazing!

Explosions In The Sky: I got the opportunity to see these guys back in 2009, and the only word to describe the experience is "AMAZING!" The band gives off incredible live energy and their post-rock melodies make it perfect for an outdoor setting. This band will definitely the chillest, good-vibe band of the fest.

Hope you enjoyed our guide! We will be taking pictures from the Ball and posting them here!
