A Little of Riley: Civil Discourse

I really do believe that people, in general, are fundamentally good which begs the question… so, what brings out the worst in us?

Yesterday I got angrier than necessary and took it out on my friend, who in actuality means the world to me… not my finest hour.  Although, sometimes it is downright impossible, to not let our emotions get the best of us, we should all make an effort to contain our emotions to prevent a domino effect.  Anger begets anger; it is never diffused by it.  It only ignites fury to our respective counterparts and leads to needless escalation, which would otherwise remain minor, to a full fledge war.

So, the next time you encounter a conflict, I encourage you to remain calm…

If we raise our level of consciousness and civil discourse, we can collectively bring about a more harmonious society.
